At the Machine Vision Conference in Coventry from 18 to 19 June, featured speaker Laurie Barnes from Automate UK will introduce the first Vision Integrator Standard, helping integrators to stand out from the crowd.

The Machine Vision Conference (MVC) will bring together industry experts and business leaders, promoting and educating on the latest innovations in image processing technologies. “This year’s event will bring together the entire machine vision industry,” said Scott McKenna, COO at Automate UK. “It will be a prime opportunity for visitors to engage with the latest innovative machine vision and imaging technologies. What’s great about this conference is that it offers something for everyone, from cutting-edge solutions and inspiring seminars to valuable face-to-face networking opportunities.”

Celebrating innovation in machine vision integration

Many of the attending vision integrators will have already made their nominations or even been nominated for Imaging & Machine Vision Europe’s own Visionaries list for 2024, which will highlight the most innovative amongst them by celebrating the brilliant minds behind the latest advancements in the sector, but attendees will also be able to apply for the new Vision Integration Standard, set up by MVC organisers, the UK Industrial Vision Association (UKIVA).

Developed to help system integrators stand out in the marketplace and win more business, as well as to improve the overall standard of the system integration sector in the UK, the Standard will set out the key areas UKIVA considers to be crucial to all integrators operating in the competitive industry, while it will also aid end users of vision equipment to select a vision integrator for their next project.

Introducing the Vision Integrator Standard at the event, will be Automate UK’s chief technology officer, Laurie Barnes. Also a featured speaker at the MVC, with 25 years’ experience in the manufacturing industry in a variety of areas including programming and motion control, commissioning and applications, machine build and contracting, he will be able to cover a broad range of topics from the viewpoint of a product user, supplier and contractor.

Topics covered at the Machine Vision Conference

Barnes will be joined at the event by speakers from the likes of Zebra technologies, ClearView, IDS, Lincode, Sick UK, Pro-Lite and Scorpion Vision, covering a range of machine vision topics, with AI and machine learning, as well as material and technology innovations both emerging as strong trends. “This is the premier UK machine vision event, bringing together suppliers and integrators with a view to solving customer problems,” said Jon Vickers, vision expert at Matrix Vision.
