Euresys has appointed Marc Damhaut as its chief executive officer. Damhaut replaces Patrick Bergmans who held the position for 6 years. In a perspective of continuity, Patrick Bergmans remains as a consultant for the company as well as chairman of the board of directors.
Damhaut joined Euresys Belgium at the early start of the company in 1989. In 1998, he was appointed sales manager Asia/Pacific where he successfully created, developed and managed Euresys' customer and distributor network. Damhaut has 10 years' experience as director of Euresys in Singapore. More recently, he has spent 5 years as senior vice president of product management for the company.
He took on his new responsibilities of CEO on the first of October and operates from Singapore where he is based. Damhaut brings to his new position more than 20 years of knowledge of imaging technologies and markets, including machine vision, medical imaging, factory automation and video surveillance.
Claude Latin, who held the position of chief financial officer at Euresys for 10 years, has been appointed chief operating officer. He is now in charge of the day-to-day management and operations of the Belgian company.
In the forthcoming years, Damhaut intends to continue the development of the product offer for the video surveillance business and to increase Euresys' market share in the machine vision business. 'The field of computer vision offers tremendous growth prospects, with a significant number of new applications and business opportunities,' said Damhaut. 'Euresys is well positioned to seize these opportunities, and I am looking forward to helping the team take Euresys to the next level.'
