SVS-Vistek has released a progressive scan 2-Megapixel camera featuring a resolution of 1,600 x 1,200 pixels with 7.4μm pitch. Frame rates are up to 40fps, with a partial scan mode allowing the user to select smaller images with higher frame rates. The number of lines can be selected in steps of 15. Also a 2 x 2 binning mode is implemented. A program is available that allows the adjustment of several camera parameters via serial interface, such as gain, offset, or exposure time in a range of 1/16000 to 10 seconds. Different operation modes like ‘free running’ or ‘triggered’ allows the user to integrate the camera into his application.
The diagonal of the CCD is about 14.8 mm. For lenses, a C-Mount connection is provided. Due to the small size of only 50 x 55 x 43mm the camera can be used in space-limited applications, such as print inspection, semiconductor industry, food sorting, optical metrology or PCB inspection. A colour option with RGB Bayer pattern is available. A Gigabit Ethernet version (GigE) is planned.
