Sierra-Olympic Technologies has introduced the Aeron Searcher, a visible and thermal video imaging system with continuous zoom, by Silent Sentinel. The long-range surveillance system features either QVGA (320 x 240) or VGA (640 x 480) options with simultaneous video and thermal outputs, while the continuous zoom (visible and thermal) provides human-detection capabilities up to 3.4km.
Sierra-Olympic’s new camera system integrates DRS’ uncooled, 17µm vanadium oxide (VOx) thermal imaging sensor into a rugged housing. With proprietary image contrast enhancement (ICE), a 3x motorised continuous thermal zoom, and pan/tilt capabilities, the Aeron Searcher delivers performance in a very compact and cost-effective pan-tilt-zoom assembly.
The Aeron Searcher can be mounted upright or inverted and the yoke can be offset to eliminate tilt blind spots through a full 360-degree rotation. The pan/tilt assembly is sealed for life, with no maintenance required. The Searcher, like all Aeron camera systems, is manufactured and tested to IP67 environmental standards. The optional 316L stainless-steel housing makes the Aeron family of products ideal for marine installations, seaports, airports, or other venues with harsh environments or severe weather conditions.
