Adimec has introduced enhanced anti-reflection coating (ARC) options for its Quartz camera series. The offerings can significantly improve the quality and accuracy of its cameras by reducing reflection to as little as 0.25 per cent of the light beams processed by the sensor.
The Adimec solutions can consistently achieve sub- 0.5 per cent protection at bandwidths of 400nm up to 900nm.
The ARC options are available in single and multilayer configurations, with protection levels ranging from 2 per cent to 0.25 per cent depending on bandwidth required. The company also offers custom ARC solutions to provide a specific level of protection that meet individual product requirements. The custom solutions allow further optimisation that takes into account the spectral characteristics of the intended application, determined by factors such as illumination, lenses and mirrors.
Adimec has seen a strong demand for after-market ARC enhancement from customers requiring the highest quality and accuracy results in areas such as metrology and electronics inspection. The combination of the Adimec True Accurate Imaging technology and the company's optical engineering expertise, allow it to deliver superior solutions than standard off-the-shelf components enable.
The ARC options enhance the sensitivity of the sensor in many applications. In machine vision applications, for example, too much reflection on the sensor (i.e. more than 2 per cent) interferes with the light reflected by the device under test. This causes measurement errors. By offering protection levels that result in as little as 0.25 per cent reflection, the Adimec solutions greatly improve the accuracy that can be achieved with its cameras.
