Framos now supplies the AR0331 from Aptina, a 3.1 Megapixel sensor combining full HD resolution with wide dynamic range to create next-generation surveillance image sensor.
The sensor was created to meet the needs of the growing full HD video-centric surveillance market with the exceptional performance of the 2.2µm pixel sensor featuring Aptina A-Pix technology. The AR0331 targets the mainstream 1/3-inch optical format surveillance camera market with excellent image quality.
The sensor provides built-in adaptive local tone mapping and HD video of up to 1,080p at 60fps employing advanced binning techniques to enable the sensor's sub 1-lux low light performance. The second HD image sensor in Aptina’s surveillance portfolio, the image sensor's low light and dynamic range capabilities enable a surveillance camera to capture HD video in the most challenging environments.
The AR0331 provides camera designers with a broad list of benefits to enable exemplary imaging performance in surveillance applications. The sensor's 1/3-inch optical format, an industry standard, makes it easy to find cost-effective Megapixel lens. The sensor delivers excellent image quality with Aptina's 2.2µm pixel performance along with the means to capture 1,080p/60 video in very low light condition as well as in high contrast lighting condition up to 100dB with WDR. Additionally, trigger mode and strobe light sync features allow 3D/stereo vision support and license plate reading operations support.
