Stemmer Imaging has added 11 and 16 Megapixel models to the Pike series of FireWire cameras from Allied Vision Technologies (AVT). These new additions, the Pike F-1100 and F-1600, are especially well suited to demanding applications where image quality, sharpness, precision and detail are essential, such as scientific imaging or medical technology.
The Pike models utilise the same Kodak sensors that are used in the AVT Prosilica GE series. With the sensor's excellent heat dissipation ensuring low noise level, the High SNR mode and the high quality IR-cut filter combine to provide up to 16-bit genuine image data, higher sensitivity and outstanding image rendering.
The models retain all the key functionality of the Pike camera family, such as the comprehensive smart functions for image optimisation and the camera control. The Secure Image Signature framework provides helpful trigger information coded within or after the image to increase user's control of camera triggering and cabling quality in the system.
All Pike models are equipped with two IEEE 1394b connectors for daisy-chain networking. Along with the classic copper version, an optional version is available that offers one copper and one fibre-optic connection for long distance data transfer. As an option, both models can be equipped with an angled head for use where space is constrained.
