E-con Systems, a company specialising in development of advanced camera solutions, has released its five-megapixel, full HD, MIPI camera board, e-CAM50IMX6, for the Freescale i.MX6 family of processors.
The e-CAM50IMX6 camera board is interfaced directly to the CSI-2 MIPI interface on the Freescale SABRE Lite board. E-CAM50IMX6 includes e-CAM57_MI5640_MOD, a five-megapixel autofocus two-lane MIPI CSI-2 camera module with 70mm flexible PCB length.
The e-CAM50IMX6 board comes with full schematics and Linux driver support with source code. E-con Systems will be announcing support for Android soon.
According to the company, the camera can stream full HD 1,080p at 30fps and also supports HD 720p at 60fps. The i.MX6 processor has support for dual camera interfaces and has the ability to record video at 1,080p and 720p resolutions in various industry standard video encoding formats. The e-CAM50IMX6 contains a camera board, flex cable and an interface board. The interface board is plugged directly into the MIPI CSI-2 camera header of the Freescale SABRE Lite board and the camera board is connected through a flex cable supplied along with the kit.
The camera is ideal for customers designing handheld devices, automotive infotainment, industrial and medical HMI, multimedia navigation, and those involved in industrial automation.
