SVS-Vistek introduces the exo428xU3 industrial camera with a resolution of 7.1 megapixels and a USB3 interface as a new member of SVS-Vistek´s powerful EXO industrial camera family. With this resolution and the aspect ratio of almost 3: 2 (3208 x 2200 pixels), the camera is the modern, powerful CMOS alternative to the old ICX695 CCD sensor. At full resolution, it provides a frame rate of 51.4 fps, which is the maximum readout speed of the sensor.
Based on the low readout noise and the excellent quantum efficiency of the Sony Pregius series (3rd generation), the sensitive, 4.5 x 4.5 µm pixels provide superior image quality. The pixel size ensures a high saturation capacity. The resulting dynamic range is impressive. The large pixels also simplify the selection of lenses fitting the 1.1“ sensor size. The exo428xU3 camera uses a global shutter and is available in monochrome or colour. The significantly improved NIR sensitivity compared to the ICX695 also deserves special emphasis.
The new camera comes with a high-quality industrial feature set that includes 8 and 12-bit color depth, ROI, binning, offset and look-up tables. The exo428xU3 is equipped with all the I/O capabilities of the EXO series to ensure rapid integration. A unique special feature is the integrated multi-channel strobe controller, which makes an external controller for lighting control redundant in most cases. Other features of the exo428xU3 include a highly flexible, integrated sequencer, a logic module and PLC-compatible 24V inputs and outputs.
Because of its features, the exo428xU3 is suitable for the use in metrology, microscopy, automation, food and biometrics where resolutions between 6 and 12 Megapixels are state of the art. Especially the automation and food sectors will benefit from high frame rates. The high light sensitivity makes the camera well suited for applications in microscopy, while food and biometrics benefit from the increased NIR sensitivity of the exo428xU3 camera that is available from now on. With further models of the EXO industrial camera family, SVS-Vistek covers resolutions between 2,3 and 31 Megapixels and thus offers a broad range of options for Machine Vision users to pick the perfect camera for their application.
