EyeVision 3 support for Flir cameras

The EyeVision 3 image processing software now also supports the infrared camera by Flir. Due to the hot spot detection of the camera the objects can be examined thermally and hot or cold positions can be found automatically. In combination with the EyeVision 3 software this efficient team can capture temperature distributions on surfaces within a millisecond interval.

The FLIR A65 produces crisp thermal images of 640 x 512 pixels. Users that do not need this high image quality for their application can choose between thermal images of 320 x 256 pixels, 160 x 128 pixels or 80 x 64 pixels.

The camera possesses a measuring rate of up to 60 Hz and allows precise temperature measurements of a detector pitch of 17 µm. The temperature range of the camera reaches from -40°C to 160°C and optionally also up to 550°C.

The application areas of the EyeVision + infrared camera combination are manifold and include the automotive and food industry as well as the plastic and solar industry. One can also use it in the beverage and electronic industry.

For example at the manufacturing of solar modules the temperature distribution on wafer during the string soldering is captured. This guarantees a reliable and efficient process. The solder temperature capturing is carried out on the silicium surface and therefore the quality of the homogeneity of the soldering can be evaluated.

Or else the infrared cameras can be used at the production of light weight construction trim parts in the automotive industry. As e.g. the plastic sheets need to be heated before being modeled into perfect trim parts, temperature measurements are carried out by the EyeVision software and the Flir IR-camera. Therefore single values as well as temperature profiles of the surface can be evaluated.

Even in combination with an infrared camera, the user interface of the EyeVision software stays the same and can therefore be programmed by the drag-and-drop programming function. For the intuitive configuration interface no special programming skills are needed. The commands for the inspection program are displayed in the shape of icons, which can be dragged with the mouse into a program editor and an inspection program can be created in only a few steps.

EyeVision 3.0 now also supports the light controller by LATAB. In the process the continuous mode controllers were especially favored. They are microprocessor-based and specially designed to control all types of LATAB lighting heads.
