The new FCB-H10 colour camera module from Sony Europe’s Image Sensing Solutions Division combines a 10x optical zoom with high definition at 1080i or 720p, to produce high-definition images.
This first high-definition (HD) camera in the Sony FCB Series is an ultra-compact (47.2 x 43.1 x 72.2mm) unit. The camera could be used by both commercial product manufacturers and VARs looking to implement and retrofit high definition video systems.
The FCB-H10 delivers 60fps. The device also makes use of Sony’s auto-focus, auto-exposure and auto-white balance technologies to high-quality images with less external intervention. Based on a 2 Megapixel 1/3-type CMOS image sensor, the FCB-H10 is designed for applications that require high-quality remote shooting such as surgery lamps, crane control, remote vehicle and motor sport.
Featuring VISCA (TTL signal level) protocol, the Sony FCB-H10 offers a total of eight different video output formats, with both HD and Standard Definition (SD) formats available. Video output choices include 720p (progressive) or 1080i (interlaced), 50Hz PAL or 60Hz NTSC, composite (SD) or component (HD) video.
The camera module also features crop and squeeze functionality for compatibility with both 16:9 and 4:3 screen aspect ratios.
