Omron has released the compact FQ-CR1 code reader. Designed specifically for reading codes printed on paper or labels, the FQ-CR1 features integrated high power LED lighting and HDR imaging technology. It automatically recognises nine different barcode formats and eight different 2D code formats without the need for setting, making it versatile and simple to configure.
The code readers are offered in four versions that, between them, cover operating distances from 32mm to 970mm, and fields of view from 7.5 x 4.7mm to 380 x 300mm. Ethernet connectivity is provided for high speed communication and straightforward network integration.
Setting up the FQ-CR1 can be carried out using a PC-based software package that is available free-of-charge from Omron, or by using the optional handheld Touchfinder screen. Other accessories available for the code reader include a polarising filter and a range of mounting brackets.
