Dalsa has introduced two new models of its Genie GigE Vision-compliant camera family. The Genie C1280 and Genie M1280 cameras feature high quality, 1.2 Megapixel image sensors ideal for industrial imaging applications in the semiconductor, robotics and traffic control industries.
The Genie 1280 models are easy to use and feature 1/3-inch Sony CCD sensors (6mm diagonal) and are available in colour (C1280) and monochrome (M1280) versions running at 24fps. Additional features include: global electronic shutter with exposure control, on-board flat-field correction, and on-board colour conversion (for the C1280) to produce crisp and clear images. Genie cameras integrate both advanced camera and board image acquisition technologies to act as a single machine vision component in one small package. The camera features an RJ45 ruggedised screw mount cable connector, ideal for robotic applications.
Like all Genie cameras, the C1280 and M1280 are certified GigE Vision compliant, and are based on the AIA (Automated Imaging Association) GigE Vision standard to directly link the camera to a PC. The cameras are supported by Dalsa's Sapera Essential software and its Genie Framework package for fast and simple camera set-up - from initial set-up to grabbing images in minutes. Like other Dalsa hardware products, Genie cameras qualify for Dalsa's free run-time licensing, which includes access to more than 400 image processing functions, area-based (normalised correlation based) template matching tool, blob analysis and lens correction tool.
