MVTec Software (Munich, Germany) and Sick AG (Waldkirch, Germany) have released an interface for all Sick 3D cameras, allowing smooth integration with MVTec's machine vision software Halcon.
The Halcon 9.0 Sick-3DCamera interface is a unified interface for the complete series of Sick Ranger and Ruler cameras. The interface makes the entire functionality of the 3D cameras directly available in Halcon, including MultiScan capacity, in which 3D and 2D data can be acquired simultaneously. Moreover, the feature also allows acquisition of calibrated and rectified 3D data. The entire functionality of the Halcon library is available to the cameras, including operators for morphology, pattern matching, measuring, and 3D vision.
Application areas such as automotive, robotics, packaging, and life sciences can benefit from the easy integration of the Sick 3D cameras into Halcon.
