Teledyne Dalsa has introduced its Icon user programmable camera series for embedded image processing applications. This camera combines Teledyne Dalsa's expertise in sensors, cameras and image processing with off-the-shelf development tools and libraries.
The Icon series gives vision system developers the flexibility to develop their own embedded imaging applications. It is a complete embedded vision system platform offering control over hardware and image data. This is provided through a suite of embedded image acquisition, processing, analysis and control libraries using conventional programming languages like C/C++.
Icon provides high performance image sensor options, 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 and C64x+ DSP processors for real-time processing capability combined with low power consumption, familiar development environment and extensive SDK/imaging libraries, and easy integration with factory electronics and networks.
