Toshiba Imaging Systems Division, a global provider of high definition (HD) industrial camera technology, has introduced the IK-HR1S HD camera. The new, 1/3-inch CMOS detector with 2.1 Megapixels offers optional 720p or 1080i scanning operation, both with HD-SDI output. Third in Toshiba Imaging's suite of high definition cameras, the small unit (only 1.75 x 1.75 x 3 inches) features an RS-232 serial interface and a C-mount lens interface, offering clear, crisp HD imagery and superior colour resolution.
The single-chip HD camera delivers very large bandwidth, hence a better signal, over longer distances. The camera is ideal for professional and speciality broadcasting and industrial imaging applications where the option to switch from progressive to interlace scanning operation is essential.
