Alrad Imaging has introduced a range of cost-effective imaging systems ideal for carrying out measurements. Prices start at around £300 and include camera and software. A range of monochrome and colour cameras is available with either USB2.0 or FireWire interface so connection to a standard PC computer is easy. Functions offered by the software include: complete control of camera functions such as exposure, gain and white balance; timed acquisition of image sequences; zoom and rotate images; image overlay; labels and pointers; measurements between points or calculation of angles; time stamp; and SDK to customise programs.
