Phase One Industrial, a manufacturer and provider of medium format aerial digital photography equipment and software solutions, has released the Phase One iXU 150, a CMOS-based medium format aerial camera.
The Phase One iXU aerial camera's 50 Megapixel CMOS sensor offers 8,280 pixels cross-track coverage, which is 68 per cent more capture area than the sensor in any full-frame 35mm DSLR. Quality captures are now possible across its full range from ISO 100 to 6,400, at a capture rate of 0.8 second per frame. The iXU’s magnesium chassis is 30 per cent lighter than an aluminium design, but built to be a tough workhorse, able to withstand the challenging physical conditions of aerial photography.
The Phase One iXU 150 utilises the central leaf shutters built into the wide range of compatible Schneider-Kreuznach lenses (28mm, 55mm, 80mm, 110mm, 150mm and 240mm). The camera is integrated easily into new or existing setups with its USB 3.0 connectivity for storage and control, and direct serial communication to GPS/IMU systems.
