Allied Vision Technologies has expanded the Manta camera series with two new models, providing greater flexibility with optional variations through the AVT modular concept including Power over Ethernet.
The Manta G-033 extends the lower end of the camera family. It comes equipped with the Sony ICX414 sensor. This 1/2-inch CCD sensor with VGA resolution (0.3 Megapixels) has high light sensitivity.
At the top end of the Manta series, the Manta G-504 raises the camera family's maximum resolution to 5 Megapixels. The model comes equipped with the highly sensitive 2/3-inch Sony ICX655 Super-HAD CCD sensor.
All Manta models now offer optional housing variations from the AVT modular concept. Among these are, for example, turned-head versions that allow the camera to be more easily assembled into tight systems. A board-level version with no housing and up to 200mm connection between sensor and main board is also available. Moreover, in Manta's modular concept, a white medical design housing will be offered for scientific and medical applications.
An optional Power over Ethernet (PoE) version will be available for all models of this camera family. With Power over Ethernet, the Gigabit Ethernet interface cable not only carries image data, but also supplies the camera with power. The benefit is that an additional power supply is no longer necessary. The camera is connected to the host PC with only one cable. The only requirement is that the interface card of the computer supports PoE.
