New Imaging Technologies' (NIT) MD1-10-B logarithmic CMOS sensor is a true logarithmic sensor that uses an array of photodiodes operated in photovoltaic mode. The open-circuit voltage across the p/n junction is proportional to the exact and pure logarithmic value of the incident light intensity.
NIT provides the MCD1-10-BW, an analogue camera module that uses the HDR imager. The MCD1-10-BW modules are equipped with the MD1-10-B log sensor which provides high dynamic range, greater than 120dB. MD1-10-B provides a pure logarithmic response without noticeable fixed pattern noise. The sensor also handles light variations well and is suited to outdoor imaging.
