Moritex Schott has developed the ML-L00502, a new lens for high definition line scan cameras, offering an exact, high contrast picture display at a screen diagonal of up to 62mm. The illumination drop between the centre and the periphery of the field of view is less than 20 per cent. The distortion of the optic is less than 0.1 per cent.
The latest generation of CCD sensors in line scan cameras reaches a resolution of 12,000 pixels, 5µm in size. In order to capitalise on this, lenses like the ML-L00502 offer an extremely low distortion. This also makes them attractive for high-resolution Matrix sensors.
