Adimec has introduced two additional CCD cameras, with options for GigE Vision and Camera Link interfaces, to its Opal and Onyx families. These 2 Megapixel cameras with 5.5μm pixel size are based around the KAI-02150 line of Kodak sensors, allowing for high spatial resolution. Available in monochrome and colour, the 1600 versions of the Opal and Onyx have resolutions of 1,600 x 1,200 pixels while the 2000 versions have resolutions of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (HDTV).
Built on a platform approach, the cameras have continued with similar form, fit, and function throughout the line allowing easy integration and compatibility for future upgrades into OEM applications. This concept also allows OEMs the possibility of customisation while maintaining a short time-to-market. The Onyx family of cameras have superior image quality with the flexibility and cost effectiveness of GigE. The Opal family uses the industry standard Camera Link interface providing twice the speed of similar cameras.
The advanced sensor technology combined with optimised embedded video processing provides excellent linearity over the full dynamic range.
