Optris has introduced the second generation of its Optris PI thermal imager. The camera is based on a new, small detector providing 160 x 120 pixel resolution.
The detector allows thermal processes of objects as small as 50µm to be monitored. Precise measurements can also be performed on objects 0.5mm in size. Exchangeable high-precision lenses allow adjustment of the measurement distance and object size.
The stationary infrared camera is connected to a computer via USB 2.0. The computer software Optris PI Connect displays thermal images captured at up to 120Hz (8ms per picture).
The thermal imager measures 45 x 45 x 62mm and weighs 250g including the lens and cable. The camera can be used in combination with a Tablet PC as a mobile device.
