Active Silicon has introduced the Phoenix HD-SDI range of frame grabbers, offering low latency capture from uncompressed 8-bit and 10-bit Serial Digital Interface (SDI) and High Definition Serial Digital Interface (HD-SDI) video sources.
All variants support the SMTPE 292M standard and can capture from 270Mb/s and 540Mb/s standard definition SDI sources, as well as up to 1.484Gb/s HD-SDI sources. Supported video formats include 525 NTSC, 625 PAL, 720p, and 1080i resolutions.
The range is available for single lane PCI Express systems or, for demanding applications, the Phoenix D20HDSDI offers a four lane PCI Express interface, which supports bandwidths in excess of 750Mb/s.
The frame grabbers are compatible with Windows XP and Linux (both 32-bit and 64-bit variants), as well as XPe, DOS, VxWorks, Solaris, Mac OS X, and QNX.
The software development kit allows integrators to develop applications quickly and simply. A range of built-in third-party image analysis software drivers are available for packages such as Common Vision Blox, Streampix, Matlab, and LabView. Support is also provided for DirectShow and QuickTime interfaces.
