Teledyne Dalsa has introduced the Piranha4 8k/7 micron dual line scan CMOS camera (P4-8k). The first of its series, the P4-8k combines advancements in Teledyne Dalsa's CMOS imaging sensor technology with outstanding signal-to-noise ratio for high speed imaging.
The camera provides 8k/7 micron resolution and 70kHz maximum line rate using a Camera Link interface. The Piranha4 family is based on Teledyne Dalsa's CMOS dual line scan technology with on-chip CDS and on-chip ADC. It offers low read noise and high full well capacity. This gives a high dynamic range for demanding applications.
Other key features of the P4-8k include 100 per cent fill factor, exposure control, 100x anti-blooming, and precise sensor alignment, which simplify multiple camera calibration at the system level. In addition, an advanced GenICam compliant interface makes the camera easier to setup, control, and integrate.
Users can save up to four sets of flat-field correction coefficients, adjust gain and offset, and test pattern and diagnostics. The P4-8k camera is ideal for flat panel display, printed circuit board, solar cell, film, and large format web inspection. Other typical applications include parcel sorting, high performance document scanning, and high throughput applications.
The line scan family includes 1k, 2k, 4k, and 8k resolutions with various pixel sizes. Other models, in monochrome and colour, will follow shortly.
