Camera manufacturer Basler is expanding its portfolio with the new USB 3.0 camera series named pulse. This camera offers lightweight, sophisticated design and highly flexible integration capabilities.
The Basler pulse stands out with its light weight – under 60g – and measures 38.8 mm x 28.2 mm (diameter x length). The robust and elegant metal housing of the pulse series has an integrated tripod adapter and the CS-mount can easily be converted to a C- or S-mount.
Further, the camera is equipped with the easy-to-use USB3 Vision interface, and offers great stability and impressively low 1.3-watt power consumption. These and other features make the Basler pulse a very compact solution for easy system integration as well as for the switch from analog to digital vision technology.
With its new generation of CMOS sensor technology, the camera series offers the most pristine and colorful image quality, with resolutions between 1.2 and 5 MP. Global shutter and rolling shutter options are available, as well as frame rates up to 54 fps.
In addition, the pulse series offers high flexibility in integration and finds usage well beyond the factory automation applications. Examples are:
• Educational, routine, and scientific microscopy
• Dermatology
• People recognition, counting, and tracking
• In-vehicle automatic license plate recognition (ALPR)
Basler Senior Product Manager Marc Oliver Nehmke emphasizes, “With this portfolio expansion, we put high focus on state-of-the-art technology in innovative design. The pulse series will surprise with its easy and flexible integration capabilities.”
