Adimec, a world leader in application-specific, leading-edge industrial camera solutions, announces the release of the next generation QUARTZ 12 Megapixel Quad CoaXPress camera, the Q-12A180/CXP.
The Q-12A180 camera utilizes the AMS CMOSIS CMV12000 global shutter image sensor and is a 12 Megapixel CMOS global shutter camera that delivers images of 4096 x 3072 pixels at 187 frames per second (fps).
For more than 4 years, the Q-12A180 has been relied on as a high resolution, high speed solution with a market leading price performance ratio. The series has been upgraded to measure structures or defects with a better accuracy to meet the increased demands of in-line optical metrology system, such as in electronics manufacturing.
One of the most significant enhancements is the addition of corrections for artifacts from the image acquisition set-up process. Low Frequency Flat Field Correction (LF FFC) is a way of compensating for optics and lighting shading non-uniformities in an image scene. The purpose of Flat Field Correction is to ensure image uniformity regardless of exposure. This results in an equal response of all pixels for accurate measurements over the entire FOV.
In many applications multiple lighting conditions or various optics are used which are controlled in sequential order, which results in multiple shading artifacts. Therefore, the LF FFC functionality supports multiple Flat Field Sets which could be selected in between frames. All flat field corrections in Adimec’s cameras are done in real time, minimizing latency in the system.
These features have proven successful in Adimec’s other high-resolution cameras, such as the ON Semi Vita 25k based camera, the S-25A70/CXP and the CMOSIS 50k based camera, S-50A30/CXP, and more.
Other additions to this series are functions like high frame rate binning functionality, band readout functionality and further optimized image uniformity.
