Adimec has launched the first member of its new CMOS-based Sapphire series, S-25A30. The S-25A30 camera is based on the Vita 25k image sensor. Adimec developed the Sapphire-series camera platform especially for OEMs of metrology and inspection equipment who require ultra high-resolution images at high speeds. Based on proprietary camera design, the S-25A30 is a CMOS camera producing CCD-like images and therefore can be used in electronic manufacturing systems, like PCB inspection and flat panel inspection.
The S-25A30 is a 25 Megapixel CMOS global shutter model and delivers images of 5,120 x 5,120 pixels at 32fps. Using the region of interest (ROI) function the frame rate can be increased, for example 100fps at 8 Megapixels. It is equipped with a Camera Link Full and Deca interface.
The Sapphire series contains a defect pixel correction algorithm especially designed for large area scan image sensors. This algorithm maintains high image uniformity even with a high number of defect pixels that are more common in these kinds of sensors. The S-25A30 is designed to be stable over time and delivers reliable and predicable high quality images required for inline inspection equipments.
The Sapphire series has low power consumption of 6.5W and an effective thermal design. Therefore the camera is easy to integrate without unwanted noise caused by heat.
