Aicon has introduced ScanReference, a measuring system enabling a fast and simple measurement of reference points. Creating a reference network is essential when scanning large or complex objects, for example in reverse engineering, quality control or service.
After positioning self-adhesive reference points and some coded targets on the object to be measured, pictures are taken from different viewpoints with the pre-calibrated high resolution digital camera. The ScanReference software calculates the coordinates of all reference points without any further interaction of the operator. The network coordinates are transformed into the scanning software, whether it is a white light, blue light or LED scanner. No expert knowledge is necessary for operation.
