Silicon Software has moved into new headquarters in Mannheim, Germany. The move follows the company being bought by Basler in July; Silicon Software also now has more than 50 employees.
Silicon Software celebrated its 20th anniversary last year. Based in Mannheim from the beginning, Silicon Software has developed from a start-up into a market leader for image processing solutions in Germany. When the current room situation was again too cramped, various offers were evaluated. "Moving into an entire building seems to be the best solution to enable further growth of the business and the number of employees," explain Managing Director Dr. Klaus-Henning Noffz and Chief Technology Officer Dr. Ralf Lay, who founded the company. The company has its own branches in the USA and Canada and is active in sales through a worldwide network of distributors.
Silicon Software develops products for the growth markets robotics and automation, which take over visual quality assurance tasks in production. For example, bottle contents are examined for foreign objects, wooden surfaces are inspected for the smallest defects or operations are monitored in automated surgery.
The new building offers approximately 2,500 sqm office space allocated to five stories and a free arrangement of the inner space. It is therefore adaptable to changing working methods and staff structures in the future. The modular construction type without main wall, using twelve modules in the width, five in the height and four in the depth, makes the whole structure of the building, which has been planned by the architects Fischer Architekten GmbH and be executed by B.A.U. GmbH & Co. KG as building constructor. The investment volume reached approximately ten Million Euros.
