SVS-Vistek has released the svs340 (640 x 480 pixel), a high-speed camera with Camera Link (base configuration) or GigE Vision interface. The Camera Link version can be accelerated up to 400fps while the GigE version reaches 264fps. The 1/3-inch CCD with a pixel size of 7.4 x 7.4μm is read out via 2 taps.
Processing of the analogue CCD signal using Correlated Double Sampling (CDS) and digital signal conversion provides an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. The internal microcontroller allows operating mode (e.g. 2x2 binning), exposure time as well as gain and offset to be adjusted. In addition, the synchronisation of image capture to an external event can also be adjusted by the user. Exposure time can be either modified via the serial Camera Link interface or by trigger pulse width.
The svs340 is available with monochrome and colour sensor. Software tools for system integration and camera configuration are provided. A matching Camera Link frame grabber with shading correction onboard or Bayer pattern conversion (colour applications) is also available.
