Sierra-Olympic Technologies, supplier of infrared (IR) and thermal imaging components, cameras, and systems solutions for advanced IR imaging applications offers the new Tamron family of longwave infrared lenses for OEM and security/surveillance imaging applications. Tamron, a specialist in industrial and OEM lens assemblies, has recently selected Sierra-Olympic Technologies as the new stocking distributor for the cost-effective Tamron LWIR Zoom Lenses.
The Tamron LWIR Zoom Lenses operate in the 8-14µm spectral range. There are two zoom range models available with diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings, 35-105mm and 50-150mm, and one zoom range model with an anti-reflective (AR) coating, 35-105mm. All models feature superb parfocality (focus through zoom). The lenses also provide continuous, precision athermalisation, low weight, and low power. With a standard M34 x 0.5mm thread mount, the Tamron LWIR zoom lenses can be easily used with most microbolometer cameras.
According to Chris Johnston, president of Sierra-Olympic Technologies, ‘We have delivered thousands of IR zoom lenses since 1995, from all infrared wavelengths - SWIR, MWIR, and LWIR. As experts in evaluating and integrating thermal imaging zoom lenses, we are delighted to offer the new family of Tamron zoom lenses. We know these Tamron lenses deliver the highest possible performance in repeatability, athermalisation, parfocality, and modulation transfer function (MTF) when measured against any other thermal zoom lens.’
