Edmund Optics has introduced its Techspec infrared (IR) achromatic lenses. These lenses are designed to provide near diffraction-limited focusing performance over their full spectral range. They are colour corrected for 3-5µm (mid-wave IR) or 8-12µm (long-wave IR) and are available in 30mm diameter with focal lengths of 40mm, 50mm, 60mm and 75mm.
The infrared lenses are ideally suited for applications in FTIR spectroscopy, thermal imaging and for use with tuneable QCL and other infrared lasers. The lenses offer significantly improved performance when compared to traditional singlets. This allows designers in industrial, medical, scientific and military applications to utilise the entire dynamic range and full quantum efficiency of their infrared sensors for an impressive array of diverse OEM and laboratory uses.
These are precision optical grade crystalline lenses, air spaced and expertly aligned within an anodised aluminium barrel. All lenses are coated for maximum energy throughput over their full specified spectral region. Complete prescription data is available upon request.
