Teledyne DALSA, a Teledyne Technologies company, and global leader in imaging technology has been named as a finalist for SPIE’s Prism Awards for Photonics Innovation in the category of Imaging and Cameras. The camera is the industry’s first line scan polarization camera.
The Piranha4 Polarization camera uses Teledyne DALSA’s advanced quad-linear CMOS image sensor with nanowire micro-polarizer filters, and enables imaging of material properties not detectable using conventional technologies. The camera captures multiple native polarization state data without any interpolation. With a maximum line rate of 70 kHz x 4, the camera outputs independent images of 0°(s), 90° (p), and 135° polarization states as well as an unfiltered channel. Polarization imaging significantly enhances detection capability in many demanding applications and represents a powerful new addition to system designers’ machine vision toolboxes.
The 10th annual Prism Awards for Photonics Innovation honors the best new photonic products on the market. The annual Prism Awards ceremony is held during SPIE Photonics West, in San Francisco, California, USA. Winners are selected by a panel of leading industry experts, venture capitalists, luminaries and visionaries, and announced during an Awards ceremony January 31, 2018.
