Dalsa has introduced the Xcelera-HS PX8 frame grabber to support its new Piranha HS 12k 90kHz camera. Building on the success of Dalsa's Xcelera-CL frame grabbers, the Xcelera-HS Series leverages the PCI Express (PCIe) platform to bring traditional image acquisition and processing technology to new levels of performance and flexibility.
Dalsa's new HSLink interface allows the Xcelera-HS PX8 frame grabber to deliver image acquisition bandwidth of 1.5GB/s, and also allows it to host transfer bandwidth of 2GB/s over multiple-lane PCIe implementations. The HSLink interface is a new machine vision connectivity interface pioneered by Dalsa and based on Camera Link interfaces with added features. HSLink delivers scalable bandwidth in 300MB/s steps, from 300-6,000MB/s, while using globally available, off-the-shelf components. A white paper detailing the HSLink interface is now available for download.
All Xcelera series frame grabbers are supported by Dalsa's Sapera Essential software package. Sapera Essential is a cost-effective machine vision software toolkit that bundles board level acquisition and control with advanced image processing capability.
