Headwall has appointed Portable Analytical Solutions (PAS) as its distributor in Australia and New Zealand. PAS has offices in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. The agreement between the two companies reflects the growing interest of the remote sensing industry in both ground-based and airborne hyperspectral sensing solutions.
Headwall CEO, David Bannon, commented: ‘Remote sensing customers and the mining and exploration community will benefit from Portable Analytical Solutions' ability to offer its customers a complete remote sensing hyperspectral package that complements the other ground-based technologies they represent.’
He added: ‘Remote sensing is most precise when airborne and ground-truth capabilities are synchronised, and PAS will have the unique ability to provide the very diverse Australian market with integrated solutions.’
Paul Martin of Portable Analytical Solutions remarked: ‘Hyperspectral imaging is a required tool for the remote-sensing community, and we're very pleased to announce our alignment with Headwall. We can offer our clients solutions for UAVs and manned aircraft while at the same time showing how the technology is also perfectly suited for field use, in high-speed advanced machine vision applications, for environmental monitoring, precision agriculture, and exploration sciences.’
Hyperspectral imaging determines an object’s chemical and spectral fingerprint. Headwall's sensors take advantage of diffractive optics, which use aberration-corrected gratings to deliver high performance with respect to high spatial and spectral resolution, high signal-to-noise, and a wide field of view.
