Europe’s most important ADAS conference, AutoSens, (http://auto-sens.com/) has confirmed an impressive speaker line-up for this year’s event, which will take place in September in Belgium, with big names from OEM, Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers.
Keynote speakers, panellists and advisers from some of the world’s biggest automotive manufacturers including GM, Daimler, Ford, BMW, Volvo, Jaguar Land Rover, Toyota; technology suppliers including Intel, Continental, Valeo, Panasonic; and newer autonomous industry entrants such as Faraday Future and ADASWorks will take part in what is being touted as this year’s leading gathering of autonomous vehicle technologists.
New technology
Start-ups in the industry will have a unique opportunity to promote and pitch their innovations to the leading automotive brands and technology scouts in a special part of the conference – AutoSens Accelerator (http://auto-sens.com/accelerator).
Established players tackling the technical challenges of self-driving vehicles, from software to hardware and mechanical ADAS systems, including new radar, LIDAR and image sensors, auto makers will see the latest technologies in the main 2-day conference.
Standards development
AutoSens will feature the first face-to-face meeting of the IEEE Standards Association workgroup on Automotive Image Quality – Project 2020 (http://auto-sens.com/ieee2020.
Chaired by Robert Stead, who is also the Conference Director of the AutoSens event, this working group will support industry activities by working to establish common benchmarks for image quality evaluation in display output and computer vision applications. The meeting, hosted at AutoSens on 20th September represents the first important milestone in working towards development of this brand new IEEE standard.
Comprehensive
The comprehensive event includes a training workshop on vehicle image sensor technology, new technology start-up pitches and dedicated display area, ADAS supplier exhibition, worldwide exclusive OEM vehicle demonstration, IEEE standards working group meeting and a three-track, two-day conference programme. This will be complemented by an enjoyable and productive social networking programme with the inspiring backdrop of one of the world’s finest automotive museums.
Full coverage of vehicle perception technologies – growing from its origins in image sensors and cameras, AutoSens will cover the full range of sensor modes for internal and external perception, processors and software for computer vision and sensor fusion, cable and Wi-Fi network technology. The context of functional safety, testing and validation, regulations and liability, and standards development will be discussed as well as case studies from around the world.
With keynotes from the world’s biggest OEMs to start-up pitches for embryonic research groups, AutoSens is the only conference which connects the full value chain, removing barriers to entry and engaging stakeholders in the autonomous, self-driving car; intelligent mobility and integrated transport eco-system. Delegates and exhibitors will include academia, commercial researchers, electronics experts, and engineers, with diverse organisations from start-ups, to SMEs to multi-nationals at OEM, Tier 1 and Tier 2 level.
