The NEW Ensenso N20 equipped with two high resolution 1.3 megapixel CMOS sensors 3D camera provides a wider field of vision, which means it is also suitable for capturing greater volumes and for working distances of up to 3 meters. A more powerful projector with blue LEDs combined with the high resolution of the sensors delivers even more accurate detail and precise 3D data, even with very difficult surfaces.
The GigE interface also allows cable lengths of up to 100 m, while the camera is also “powered over Ethernet” (PoE), eliminating the need for an additional cable for the power supply.
Despite the integrated projector and the two CMOS sensors, the stereo camera has a comparatively compact construction. At just 175 x 50 x 50 mm it does not require much space, while its robust aluminum housing and screw-on connections make it ideal for industrial applications.
The package includes an interface to the MVTec HALCON machine vision library and a software development kit, which is identical for the GigE and USB models. The Ensenso software has been optimised, particularly in terms of robot vision and multi-camera applications. The data from two or more connected 3D cameras is automatically combined into a single 3D data record. For example, this allows an object to be captured from several sides, while the working space and resulting accuracy can be scaled to almost any degree by the number of cameras installed. The Ensenso software also allows convenient integration of Basler ace USB 3.0 or GigE connection models.
The other impressive features of the SDK include sub-sampling and binning adjustable using the software, which allows very flexible data and frame rates, e.g. up to 80 Hz, along with hand-eye calibration, which makes it easier to integrate the camera into applications like bin picking. Talking of simplicity: the Ensenso N20 is precalibrated and supplied ready for immediate use. The user receives metric 3D data “out of the box”.
The new 3D camera with GigE connection is available with different focal lengths and vergence angles. Contact the Multipix sales team for information and a demonstration.
