Photron has launched the Fastcam SA3, a Megapixel high-speed video imaging system that is designed to withstand high G (operation tested to 100G, 10ms, 6 axis) and rugged environments. Ideal for automotive safety testing, the new camera features a 17 micron pixel size for demanding frame rates or low light applications, providing exceptional light sensitivity, image quality and colour fidelity.
The 12-bit CMOS camera system with 2-microsecond global shuttering is available in two configurations and two memory options (2GB and 4GB). The 60K model performs at 1024 x 1024 full pixel resolution at up to 1,000fps, and offers reduced resolution at up to 60,000fps. The 120K model operates at 1024 x 1024 full pixel resolution at up to 2,000fps, with reduced resolution at up to 120,000fps. Ideally suited for high-speed impact testing and analysis, R&D and industrial high-speed imaging, the SA3 is a highly stable, affordable and reliable camera system.
The camera is easy to operate and integrate and an optional RS422 remote keypad control with a built-in 5-inch LCD colour display offers real-time monitoring capabilities during set-up, recording and playback, without requiring an external computer.
