Andor Technology, an Oxford Instruments company and world leaders in scientific imaging and spectroscopy solutions, is proud to announce the release of Komet 7 and Komet 7-GLP, our latest versions of the original Komet software first released in 1992 by Kinetic Imaging. Andor’s Komet software has been the recognized leader in the field for more than 15 years.
As with previous versions of Komet software, Andor continue to offer Database Viewer (DBV) completely free of charge with every copy of Komet 7 software. DBV automatically stores images of comets scored during an experiment and provides data summaries for each one. DBV is also freely distributable by Komet users to colleagues, so that many people can analyse the data acquired at their own workstation and in their own time.
Komet 7 and Komet 7-GLP embrace new OECD requirements, building on the experience developed over the past 20 years. In addition, Komet 7 is Win 7.0 compatible, with Win 8.1 compatibility coming soon. The release of Komet 7 also brings with it support of Zyla 5.5 USB3, which, with such a large field of view (5.5 MP) ensures rapid comet scoring. This is ideal in situations where high throughput and speed are essential.
Komet 7 maintains backward compatibility for hundreds of existing users, while also enabling new possibilities using the latest computer systems, cameras and light source developments. As manufacturer of both camera and software, Andor is able to offer a new range of Komet Workstation bundles, which includes Komet 7, Data Base Viewer (DBV), a state of the art sCMOS camera and high performance Windows computer providing best value and guaranteed performance. Komet 7 can provide an upgrade path to existing users, either through the new workstation bundle or via re-use of existing 3rd party cameras.
