PCO AG, based in the Bavarian town of Kelheim, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of scientific cameras. The company has now opened its first sales office in Asia. After a start-up phase in 2014, Murad Karmali, President of PCO Imaging Asia Ltd. now assumes strategic and operative responsibility for business in the region. Sales partners from India to Australia who were previously provided with support from Germany will be managed from the Singapore office from now on.
“The Asian markets are becoming increasingly important for PCO. This is true for our entire portfolio of high sensitivity cameras for scientific and industrial applications, from the sCMOS right through to the high-speed models. The growing level of demand increased the need for local representation,” explains Dr Emil Ott, founder and President of PCO AG. “The branch office in Singapore makes it easier for sales partners to communicate with us more directly.”
The first Asian sales meeting at the end of 2014 was met with a very positive response and highlighted the high level of demand. 15 sales managers, owners and application technicians from Asian PCO sales partners exchanged ideas about innovations and future product releases. Dr Emil Ott, Karin Ott, Head of Personal Department, and Luitpold Kaspar, Head of Sales Department, travelled to Singapore from the company headquarters in Kelheim for the meeting. “Our goal is to strengthen and expand the PCO brand in the region. To do so, we want to work together closely with the relevant sales partners and seek out personal dialogue in order to be able to detect and implement potential optimisations,” explains Murad Karmali, President of PCO Imaging Asia Ltd. Karmali has worked for PCO AG for many years, both in individual end customer business and in OEM business with major customers. He is assisted by Sales Manager Dr Jong Xiao, who focuses on service and support for the individual markets and the Chinese market in particular.
