Basler Vision Technologies has expanded its Scout series with four new camera models based on Sony's high sensitivity ICX285 CCD sensor. Suitable for industrial applications ranging from factory automation to semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, the cameras feature a 30fps image capture rate and high image quality. A GigE Vision compliant Gigabit Ethernet interface allows 12-bit image data transfer and colour output at full working speeds.
The image quality on the scA1400-30xx models is measured and proven for each camera by automated EMVA 1288 sensitivity tests performed during production and the implementation of clock driver devices ensure the cameras deliver reliable, artifact-free images.
Encased by a 29mm x 44mm x 73.7mm housing, the new models are available with either a GigE Vision compliant Gigabit Ethernet interface or a FireWire-b interface and in monochrome or colour. Standard RJ-45 Ethernet or screwable FireWire-b connectors are provided.
Basler's Pylon driver package supports both GigE and FireWire cameras and enables straightforward integration into existing applications. Series production begins in March 2008.
