German-based company Matrix Vision offers three different smart cameras: mvBlueLYNX, mvBlueCOUGAR-P and mvBlueLYNX-M7.
mvBlueLYNX features a 400MHz PowerPC processor and 64MB RAM, which contains an embedded Linux OS. Furthermore, there are enough interfaces to guarantee optimum network integration (LAN) as well as easy device integration (USB, dig I/O, VGA, serial I/O). Different CCD area and line scan, as well as CMOS sensors, are available.
The mvBlueCOUGAR-P is an intelligent industrial GigE Vision camera, which combines the advantages of GigE cameras and smart cameras in one device. The series has a wide range of CCD and CMOS sensors and features a 400MHz PowerPC processor, 64MB SDRAM as well as digital I/Os. The camera can be powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE).
The single-board image processing system mvBlueLYNX-M allows the use of identical sensor heads for stereoscopic applications or two sensors with different resolutions for mixed operation. All modules feature a 400MHz PowerPC processor, 512MB DDR2-RAM memory, 64 + 8MB Flash memory. The board has two 10/100/1000 Megabyte LAN interfaces and supports the GigE Vision interface standard. Further interfaces include four USB 2.0, a miniPCI Type III, SD/SDHC memory cards and also eight digital inputs and outputs to control external peripherals like lighting.
