EVT has released the EyeMIO, a multi-function PLC IO module. The EyeMIO can be used to control peripheral devices and therefore forms the physical interface between the image processing system and the production facility. The device has a number of standardised interfaces available including USB 2.0 and a serial RS232 interface. Additionally the module possesses four digital inputs and four digital outputs, each with indicator LED.
As additional communication between the various different circuit parts, EyeMIO offers a two-wire serial interface (I²C) and also a one-wire interface. The module also has a built-in temperature sensor, which is especially useful in industrial environments.
